Challenge
We had two main tasks: to test the streaming service on desktop browsers and to test the mobile application on all available devices taking into account the diversity of operating systems and screen resolutions.
Solution
The team stuck to the usual workflow:
- To get familiar with the product and testing requirements.
- To make a checklist.
- To divide the platforms for testing between team members involved.
It was essential for the client to cover the vast array of devices to check the basic functionality and performance of the product on various platforms and devices. Thus, several QA engineers were involved in the testing process to complete the tasks quickly.
The client provided a very clear testing scenario to look at during the inspection. Based on this scenario, the QA engineers made the testing checklist. We ran functional and cross-browser testing for desktop as well as compatibility testing for mobile devices.
Results
In the course of testing, the team detected functional bugs. Some operating systems didn’t support the application at all. We recommended fixing the defects and running regression tests to make sure no other functionality has been affected during fixing. We also suggested ways to make cooperation more efficient to ensure a smooth testing process.
